Ingredients

Oil/ghee – 3 tablespoons
Whole spices – a few each, as per your choice
Fried onions – 2/3 onions finely chopped and fried
Ginger/garlic – crushed 2 tablespoons
Green chilies – 3/4 whole slit


Tomato – 1/2 ripe
Chicken – 300 gms
(Vegetarians can replace with vegetables – 2/3 cups of your choice.)
Salt – as per your taste
Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon


Chili powder – 1 tablespoon Coriander leaves – a handful
Mint leaves – a handful
Lemon (medium/big) – squeeze the juice
Curd – 1 tablespoon
Basmati rice – 2 cups

Method
  • Mix all the ingredients together in a clay pot, keep aside for 20-30 minutes to marinate.
  • Add semi cooked rice to it and top it with few fried onions, ghee, green chili, whole spices etc.
  • Seal it with dough/cloth/tin foil and place on stove or hot charcoal for 10-15 minutes on low heat.
  • After cooling, open, mix gently and serve.
